Plenty of companies quote "window cleaning" and mean the glass only. Here's exactly what a Slake window clean covers, so you can compare quotes properly.
- The glass — purified, deionised water, so nothing dries back onto the pane as a spot or a streak.
- The screens — taken out, washed on both sides, dried and reseated. Not brushed off in place.
- The tracks — vacuumed first, then wiped. This is where the grit lives and where sliders start to stick.
- The sills and frames — wiped down, including the exterior sill nobody ever sees but everybody notices.

Method
Why we don't use tap water.
Toronto tap water is hard. Left to dry on glass, the dissolved minerals stay behind as spots — which is why a window can look worse an hour after it's "cleaned".
Purified water
Water goes through a deionising filter before it touches your house. With nothing dissolved in it, it dries clear — no spots, no towel marks, no residue for dust to stick to.
Reach from the ground
Upper storeys are cleaned with a water-fed pole where we can, so there's no ladder leaning on your gutters or sinking into your flower beds. Ladders come out only when they're genuinely better.
Hard-water treatment
Sprinkler and runoff staining gets an acid treatment and a lot of patience. If it's etched into the glass rather than sitting on it, we'll tell you that instead of charging you to find out.

How is a window clean priced?
By pane count, storeys and access — not by the hour. We count the windows on the quote visit (or from your description and a couple of photos), and you get one fixed number in writing. It only changes if you add work.
Do I need to be home?
For exterior-only work, no — as long as we can get to the back yard and the taps. For interior work someone needs to let us in, and we'd rather you were there at the end for the walkthrough.
How high can you reach?
Three storeys on most homes, using water-fed poles from the ground. Anything higher, or anything over a roofline we can't safely stand on, and we'll tell you plainly that it needs a specialist rather than improvising.
Will you clean windows in winter?
Interiors, any time of year. Exteriors we work down to about −5 °C with the right additives; below that, water freezes on the glass and the result isn't worth your money, so we'll book you for the first mild stretch instead.
Can you get the scratches out?
No — and neither can anyone else, honestly. Scratches and etching are damage to the glass itself. What looks like a scratch is often paint overspray or construction debris, though, and that does come off. We'll take a look and tell you which it is.
